Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate fuel cost?
Divide the miles by your car's miles per gallon to get gallons, then multiply by the price per gallon. 250 miles at 28 MPG and $3.20 a gallon is about $28.57.
Is this the same as mileage reimbursement?
No. This is only the gas. The IRS mileage rate also covers wear, maintenance, insurance and depreciation, so it is higher; use the mileage reimbursement calculator for that.
