How do I remove tax from a price that already includes it?
Divide the total by (1 plus the tax rate). A total of $108.25 with an 8.25% tax is $108.25 divided by 1.0825, which is $100 before tax, plus $8.25 of tax.
Are the rates set in this tool official?
No. The default rate of 8.25% is only an example. Check the sales tax rate for your state, county and city, and enter it before you use the results.
